The Basics

Dennis Sprick

Born in Passaic, New Jersey; raised in Clifton, New Jersey; a 1974 graduate of Clifton High School; and a 1978 graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with a B.A. in Journalism/English/Drama and election to Phi Beta Kappa. More than 25 years as a journalist with The Times Herald-Record in Middletown, New York, with experience as a copy editor, film critic, Broadway critic, and award-winning essayist.

Key Factors

Early success in school propelled me to seek additional validation as a runner. Various injuries and allergies pointed me to veganism, to bodywork as a profession and to work with a personal trainer, with a recent return to running after a 12-year hiatus. Joy in singing guided me to 10 years of voice lessons and various stints singing in church choirs and solo church work (I sing for clients, upon request). Love of nature and walking meditation gets me hiking on the trails of New Jersey and New York.
